My name is Chris Pfeiffer and my father's family come from Macclesfield.

My great-great-great grandparents were on board the Zebra and were original settlers of Hahndorf and subsequent generations have stayed in the general area. My great grandmother, Mary Anne Lemar married Henry Pfeiffer and had a farm somewhere north of the cemetery.

My father (Edgar Pfeiffer) is now 90 and his memory of pre 1960 seems to be pretty good. From what he has told me, when uncle William Henry Lemar died the property of Shadygrove was left to Mary Anne, being the last of her immediate family. At some stage my uncle William Henry (Henry) Pfeiffer, her grandson, took up residence until his death in 1996.

His parents Fred and Dorothy moved from the farm near the cemetery to the cottage at 14 Todd St, Macclesfield at some time in the 60's and in 1975 built the transportable house next door at number 16. In about 1935 my grandmother, Dorothy, bought a box brownie and proceeded to take copious amounts of photo's.

A few years ago I came across a shoebox full of the 75mm negatives. Then I had time to scan some at the library here in Mount Gambier. Managed to do 189 out of about 500.

My sister sat down with Dad a couple of weeks ago and he managed to put names and descriptions on most of them, albeit on a hand written sheet with photo's numbered.

My question is, would you be interested in a copy of these photo's? I look forward to hearing back from you,
